Ahmad, a psychologist and a researcher, is doing research on “Impact of divorce
on Children”. He found after doing extensive literature review that
single parenthood has become increasingly common in most industrialized
countries, in fact, it is one of the most significant social trends in
such countries. Studies found observable differences in comparison of
two-parents children with single-parent children. On an average,
single-parent children are more likely to have health
rated as poor, fair or good rather than excellent or very good. Such
children are mentally and physically stressed, aggressive, short
tempered, and socially isolated etc.
In recent years, Ahmad found that rate of divorce is increasing day by day in Pakistan. In Lahore only, from February 2005 to January 2008 approximately 75,000 divorce cases have been registered and from February 2008 to May 2011, 1,24,141 divorce cases have been registered. This increase in divorce rate leads to more single parents in society which made Ahmad curious to find the impacts of divorce
on children in Pakistani society. Researches showed that effects depend
on the age of children, child’s gender and overall personality. The
major objective of his research is to determine the impacts of divorce
on children and how children and single parents are coping with them.
One of the assumptions of his study is to collect data from registered divorce
cases in Lahore only. Ahmad started his research with research
question; what are the impacts of divorce of parents on children?
He
is about to make a research design in which he wants your help. Propose
